Dear Friends,

Welcome to the Derravaragh Music Association website.
February 18th (Friday early evening)
We are pleased to announce that the planned concert Popular arias from the operas of Handel, Mozart, Donizetti & Puccini, songs from the world of Schubert, Thomas Moore and Vaughan Williams and even a melody or two from the golden age of Broadway on February 18th featuring Gavan Ring and Fiachra Garvey will take place. However, we have decided to follow current rules for indoor events and although these rules may change before the planned concert, we will follow current rules. Therefore please note the following:

  • We will reduce the audience to 50% capacity.
  • The concert will commence at 18.00 (6pm), doors open at 17.30
  • There will be a short 'comfort' interval with no refreshments
  • The concert will end by 19.45 at the latest and no suppers will be served on this occasion.
  • Please ensure you have your Covid Vaccination certs to show at the door and masks must be worn (over the nose please) at all times.
  • All tickets must be booked in advance. Tickets are €25 and available HERE

Please book early to avoid disappointment.

February 19th (Saturday afternoon)
We postponed the planned young performers concert which was due to take place on December 12th last. The RIAM (Royal Irish Academy of Music) has been in touch to arrange a date and this is a great opportunity to hear the very best of young talent and future professionals. There will be six performers playing piano, violin, cello (and possibly trumpet!). The programme will include music from their competition pieces held at the end of 2021.

  • The concert will commence at 15.30 (doors open and 15.00) and end at 17.00
  • There will be a short 'comfort' break half way through.
  • Please ensure you have your Covid Vaccination certs to show at the door and masks must be worn (over the nose please) at all times.
  • All tickets are free but must be booked in advance HERE

Please book early to avoid disappointment.

We are fortunate in that we have sufficient reserves to maintain the DMA for the coming months and of course are trying to keep any costs (IT, insurance, accounting fees, bank charges etc) as low as possible. However, as you most of you know, the DMA receives no public subsidy and we are wholly dependent on ticket sales and donations. Over the years, many of you have provided generous donations on an annual and ad hoc basis. Please if you can, continue to help us through your donations. We need to maintain a reserve and this year, will have to use it to pay for ongoing costs.

If you wish to continue to support us, please do so by bank transfer. Our bank details are as follows. Please use your name on the bank reference so we know who has provided the donation.

The DMA Memory Book

In 2021, the DMA published a Memory Book, listing all concerts and music played since the first concert in 1987. The book has wonderful sketches from concerts at Tullynally drawn by the late Jeremy Williams. There are also several delightful short 'memories' from performers and audience members. Books are €10 each plus P&P at €3 per book and you can purchase them by contacting
If you have booked to attend a forthcoming concert, you can reserve books to collect saving you the cost of postage.  We are now operating our events as 'cashless' so we ask you email your order to in advance and pay into the DMA account directly and you can collect your books at the concert.
